Emma A. Hartwell

Emma Hartwell is a children’s author known for creating stories that celebrate neurodiversity,
emotional growth, and imagination.
She is the author of I’m a Hummingbird: An Adventure with Pixie Littlefield, a debut title in her Pixie
Littlefield series, which introduces young readers to a magical girl whose glowing wings symbolize
big feelings and a unique way of experiencing the world.
Inspired in part by her experience as a parent of a neurodivergent child, Hartwell writes to help
children feel seen, understood, and empowered.
Her work blends whimsical storytelling with social-emotional learning, encouraging kids to embrace
their differences as strengths while fostering empathy, resilience, and self-acceptance.
Through the world of Pixie Littlefield, Hartwell aims to spark meaningful conversations between
children, families, and educators—reminding readers that thinking differently is not something to
hide, but something to celebrate
